BetMGM has renewed its multiyear ambassador partnership with Connor McDavid to continue campaigns promoting responsible gambling tools. The operator reports a 27% year-over-year increase in accounts with deposit limits linked to its Mullet Over campaign, which launched in December 2025.

The renewal was reported by SCCG Management on Oct. 15. No West Virginia-specific change was reported.

McDavid to Promote Player Protection Tools

McDavid first joined BetMGM’s ambassador roster in March 2022. Under the extension, he will appear in responsible gambling content across broadcast, digital and social platforms.

The promotions highlight deposit limits, stake limits, time-out features and self-exclusion options available in the BetMGM app. The announcement concerns continued messaging about those tools, rather than a reported launch of new controls.

“Being disciplined and making smart decisions are big parts of hockey. They’re important when it comes to sports betting, too,” McDavid said.

A third responsible gambling advertisement featuring McDavid is expected to begin airing soon. The report does not give an exact air date or specify how many years the renewed agreement will run.

BetMGM Reports Increased Deposit-Limit Adoption

The reported 27% increase measures accounts with deposit limits, not a reduction in gambling-related harm. The source links that growth to Mullet Over but does not provide account totals, a detailed measurement period or methodology establishing the campaign’s effect separately from other factors.

BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said the campaign’s results reflected more players using tools such as deposit limits. Richard Taylor, the operator’s director of responsible gambling, also pointed to increased adoption of tools and resources as evidence of the partnership’s impact.

Those statements describe BetMGM’s assessment of its campaign. The report does not break out adoption figures by market, so the national result should not be read as evidence of a change among West Virginia players.
