West Virginia’s BetMGM app just added a real money slot about backstabbing your castle mates.
The premise suits the game named after a show where the whole point is deciding who gets voted out for betraying everybody else.
The Traitors Faithful Riches went live on BetMGM Casino in West Virginia on the same night “The Traitors: New Blood” premiered on NBC. The spinoff swaps the flagship show’s celebrity cast for 22 civilians competing for a prize pot of up to $250,000. BetMGM built this slot to coincinde with the show’s launch date.
West Virginia is one of four states where the game arrived this week. The game also went live on BetMGM online in New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. The same slot was also available on its Alberta and Ontario platforms under a separate announcement the next day.
Inside The Traitors Faithful Riches
The title reflects the show’s own split. Traitors scheme in secret. Faithfuls work to identify them before the prize money disappears.
Built by developer Games Global, The Traitors Faithful Riches plays across a 5×4 reel layout with 1,024 ways to win. The developer has an exclusive license from All3Media International, part of Banijay Entertainment. Three main features are behind the gameplay: Traitors Bonus, bonus spins, and The Traitor Feature. All three lean on the central game hooks: secret alliances, hidden rewards, and a jackpot for whoever outlasts the rest of the table.
Oliver Bartlett, senior vice president of gaming at BetMGM, said:
“The Traitors has captivated millions with its blend of suspense and strategy … Television and movie IP is a key pillar of our content strategy, and our partnership with All3Media gives us an opportunity to build a lasting iGaming franchise.”
The Traitors Follows BetMGM’s Survivor Franchise Deal
BetMGM has taken this route before, too.
BetMGM, Jogo Global and Banijay Rights partnered in March to launch a run of Survivor-themed franchises. They committed to building at least 10 titles together.
The Traitors agreement runs through a different Banijay arm and a different developer. The approach is yet the same: license a hit reality format, commission a studio, ship the game on premiere night.
As of now, BetMGM holds exclusive rights to build Traitors-based slots, table games, and non-traditional casino games. More titles across multiple casino categories and gameplay formats are also on the cards for the company. Terms of the licensing agreement were not disclosed.
West Virginia players can play The Traitors Faithful Riches for real money through the BetMGM app and website. The game is now live within an existing library of more than 7,000 games.
BetMGM now has two reality TV franchise deals running in parallel. The Traitors is the newer one.
