The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) announced that Charles H. Jeffers II will join the organization as interim executive director, effective immediately.
Jeffers is the founder and principal consultant of The Jeffers Group, a consulting firm that specializes in interim executive leadership, governance, strategic operations and organizational culture. He has more than 30 years of nonprofit executive leadership and organizational consulting experience. He previously served as interim executive director of the American Occupational Therapy Association and as chief executive officer of the Bermuda Tourism Authority.
Derek Longmeier, NCPG’s board president, said Jeffers’ experience was central to the board’s choice. "Charles’ depth of experience in understanding culture dynamics, operational demands, and board governance is key to our selecting him to lead as interim executive director of NCPG," Longmeier said.
Longmeier said Jeffers will focus on "operations aligned with strategy and transparency, and culture reflecting NCPG values" as he navigates the leadership transition.
NCPG said its search for a permanent executive director will begin in January.
