The operator first entered the U.S. in August 2019 in New Jersey. It also launched in Alberta in July when that market opened and is already live in Ontario.
Washington, D.C.’s market has become more competitive since the DC Council approved a new budget in June 2024 that opened the market to more operators. Multiple commercial sportsbooks began entering the market on July 15, 2024.
bet365 now joins BetMGM, DraftKings, Fanatics Sportsbook, FanDuel, Caesars Sportsbook, and theScoreBet in D.C.
What the expansion means for West Virginia players
The main local relevance is timing: D.C. is bet365’s second U.S. launch in less than two weeks, following its West Virginia debut on Aug. 27.
