West Virginia’s online casino market generated $40.9 million in revenue in August 2026, up 23% from a year earlier and marking the second-highest monthly total on record, according to Poker Industry PRO.
The August report also included a new development in the state market: Wheeling posted online casino revenue figures for the first time during the final week of the month. The regulator and the site did not identify the brand on Wheeling’s license, though Poker Industry PRO reported it believes the operator is Bet365.
Charles Town remained the market leader
Charles Town led all West Virginia licenses with $13.4 million in August revenue, or about one-third of the statewide total. Poker Industry PRO said most of that revenue came from DraftKings.
The other three established licenses were tightly grouped. Mountaineer, Greenbrier, and Mardi Gras each reported just over $9 million in monthly revenue, giving each property roughly 22% to 23% market share.
The report listed Mountaineer as split between BetRivers and Caesars, Greenbrier as partnered with BetMGM, and Mardi Gras as partnered with FanDuel.
New movement around Wheeling and existing brands
Wheeling’s appearance in the revenue data stands out because it was the first time the property reported online casino figures. Poker Industry PRO linked that timing to Bet365 going live around the same period, but that brand attribution was not officially confirmed by the regulator or the operator.
The report also noted several brand-timeline details across the market. At Greenbrier, a FanDuel move was listed from Aug. 19 to Sept. 25. At Mardi Gras, Ember was formerly Betly and was rebranded in July 2026.
For West Virginia players, the August figures show a market that continues to grow while operator alignments shift across individual casino licenses. More detail on Wheeling’s contribution and the identity of the brand on that license may become clearer in future monthly reports.
