July 1, 2026 — The West Virginia Lottery Commission renewed The Casino Club’s gaming license just days before its five-year term was set to expire, following an emergency meeting on June 29. The renewal had briefly been in doubt after a required independent audit was submitted late, leading regulators to withhold approval on June 27 pending the missing documents. Once the audit was delivered, the license was approved with no interruption to casino operations.

As a condition of the renewal, regulators now require quarterly financial reporting from the resort going forward, after auditors flagged a sharp rise in current liabilities and negative working capital at the broader resort level. Importantly, the casino itself remained profitable in 2025, and the West Virginia Lottery Commission confirmed the state’s online casino partners were not affected by the renewal process at any point.
