West Virginia Sportsbooks Highlight NFL Promos And Pools For This Upcoming Season

Written By Chris Imperiale on August 31, 2021 - Last Updated on August 13, 2024

Along with the start of college football, the NFL regular season is quickly approaching. Outside of all of the futures and player props available to bet on, most of the West Virginia online sportsbooks also feature some promotions and pools.

This year should be more exciting than most based on the fact that fans are back allowed inside stadiums. Home-field advantage has officially returned as a factor and should impact some games.

Of course, the local Pittsburgh Steelers are seeing lots of backing and should have a very interesting season. While they aren’t favored to take the division, they can certainly compete for a postseason spot.

The first game on the NFL schedule is set for Thursday, Sept. 9, between the defending champion Tampa Bay Bucs and the Dallas Cowboys.

Pittsburgh gets started with a difficult road contest at Buffalo on the opening Sunday on Sept. 12.

With Week 1 just around the corner, let’s take a closer look at the various promos and pools available in the Mountain State.

2021 NFL Promos At WV Sportsbooks

DraftKings NFL Wild Card

DraftKings WV Sportsbook is one of the leaders in providing lots of deals and pools for its users.

For the start of the season, the online sportsbook introduced its NFL Wild Card contest that includes more than $50 million in overall prizes.

Through this pool, every DraftKings member earns a wild card for free just for entering. After that, you can get more through betting on its sportsbook or daily fantasy contests.

Each card consists of either an instant prize or a player challenge. One out of every four contains some type of reward you’ll get immediately. The others will require that your player complete their individual challenge for you to earn something.

Each wild card is randomly assigned.

In total, bettors can receive up to six wild cards. It should be noted that you must claim your first one to continue earning future cards.

Bettors can secure their initial free wild card until just before midnight on Monday, Sept. 13. However, it is important to get started before that if you intend to acquire more of them.

If your player is successful in either of the first two weeks in hitting their goal, then you’ll win the specified prize.

You get the other cards by reaching a certain threshold that combines the amount of money wagered from DFS contests and bets on the sportsbook. Cards are awarded on the following:

  • $100: Wild Card 2
  • $300: Wild Card 3
  • $1,000: Wild Card 4
  • $2,500: Wild Card 5
  • $5,000: Wild Card 6

So after getting your first one, DraftKings will give you another after you place $100 in bets and so on.

Any instant winner cards will send the prize directly to your account, while you’ll see player challenge rewards within 12 hours.

DraftKings NFL Promos

DraftKings is equipped with some other ways to cash in on the NFL, too. For this season’s opening game, the online sportsbook unveiled one of its No Brainer Bets.

These fall under this category because they are deals where realistically, you can’t lose.

For the matchup between the Cowboys and Bucs on the first Thursday night of the year, you can take the defending champions as massive underdogs.

Although the actual odds for this tilt show Tampa Bay laying -7.5, DraftKings is giving you the option to take it receiving +73 instead.

With the Tampa Bay +73 No Brainer, you are essentially guaranteed to make some money from the first NFL game of the year. The only way you lose is if Dallas wins by 74.

Even though that is a technical possibility, it’s obviously incredibly far-fetched. The most points the Cowboys scored in a game in the last three seasons was 47, which would put them 27 points and a shutout of Tom Brady away from making this bet a loser.

The maximum wager for this promotion is set at $50, with the odds fixed at -110. This means that you can earn slightly over $45 in profits from as sure of a bet as you’ll find.

You must place your wager prior to the start of the game on Thursday, Sept. 9.

FanDuel Sportsbook Super Win Bonus

FanDuel WV also has some promos in place for the upcoming start of the NFL season. Through its Super Win Bonus, bettors can receive bonus money for their futures bet.

By placing a wager of at least $50 on a team to win the Super Bowl, you’ll earn $5 in site credit for every game they win.

So technically, if you pick a side that records 10 victories on the year, then your futures wager is officially a bonus. Of course, you can always pick a team that exceeds 10 wins; however, the maximum bonus is capped at $50.

It is important to note that this year’s regular season is one game longer than you’re used to. With a Week 18 in the cards in 2021, teams have an additional chance to notch another win.

Besides the bonuses, this deal could net you a quality payout from your futures pick. A $50 bet on the favorite Kansas City Chiefs at +500 wins $250.

FanDuel bettors must have their wager in by Sept. 9. Bonus funds will be awarded weekly when your team wins, within 72 hours after the game is finished.

FanDuel Free Games

You can take advantage of the online sportsbook’s free games as well.

After answering the list of questions provided in its NFL Season Predictor, you can take home up to $10,000 in prizes.

Questions consist of which team will win the Super Bowl, who will be the MVP and which coach will be named Coach of the Year.

This pool is completely free to play and locks right before the early slate of games on the first NFL Sunday.

WV Online Sportsbook NFL Promotions

Those located in WV have plenty of additional options when it comes to finding a few solid NFL deals.

At BetMGM Sportsbook WV, you can earn a $10 bonus bet just for placing a $25 wager on some type of futures market. Once you put in your qualifying bet by Sept. 9, the online sportsbook will give you the $10 to utilize toward a wager for Week 1.

Caesars WV also has NFL fans in the Mountain State covered. It’s offering a similar promo to FanDuel, where you receive $5 for every regular-season win your selection gets.

By betting at least $50 on a team to win the Super Bowl, you’ll be eligible for this deal.

The slight difference with BetMGM’s promo is you are allowed to receive more than $50 back in total returns. Here, your team can win 17 games, earning you 17 bonus bets worth $5 each.

That would mean $85 overall for a perfect regular season.

While 17 might not happen, there are probably a few teams that can reach over 10 wins. Again, the bonus funds are paid out weekly following victories.

PointsBet WV Sportsbook shows a couple of ways to produce some more profits, too.

Its first promo is comparable to the DraftKings promotion where it’s basically impossible to lose.

Through the sportsbook’s Brady Booster, Tom Brady needs to throw for just one yard against the Cowboys on the opening night. If he can do so, you will double your money.

PointsBet is giving you +100 odds on this market, with a maximum bet posted at $10.

Even though that is the only one that hands you bonus cash, it has another involving Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson. Bettors have odds of +100 for either side of Wilson’s opening game passing total of 260.5 yards.

Since there is no juice on both sides of the market, these are probably the best odds you’ll find for this player prop.
