Written By Chris Imperiale on January 31, 2019 - Last Updated on March 23, 2023

The 2019 Super Bowl is just around the corner, and West Virginia will allow Super Bowl betting for the first time.

The NFL recently crowned both the NFC and AFC champions. The New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams are preparing for Georgia.

Let’s take a more in-depth look at WV sports betting, so you know exactly where to bet on the Super Bowl in the Mountain State.

How to watch the Super Bowl

First things first, here are the details for Super Bowl LIII:

  • Date – Sunday, February 3, 2019
  • Location –Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia
  • Kickoff Time – 6:30 p.m. ET
  • TV Network – CBS

Where to bet on the Super Bowl in WV

Residents can bet on the Super Bowl at any of the West Virginia sportsbooks found in any of the state’s five casinos:

Then again if you don’t feel like moving from your couch, there’s a solution for that, too. The online and mobile app Betlucky is live and accessible to all those within the Mountain State.

WV online sports betting

Currently, the only option for placing a sports bet on the Super Bowl online is through the Betlucky app serving Mardi Gras Casino and Wheeling Island Hotel and Casino.

The popularity of Super Bowl sports betting is motivation for DraftKings WV Sportsbook and FanDuel to launch their mobile app in time for the big game. It is pure speculation mixed with a bit of wishful thinking, but one can hope.

Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races

Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races was the first sportsbook in the state to accept a legal sports bet when it opened in late August.

West Virginia’s largest casino is within an hour drive of Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., and sees a lot of out-of-state customers because of its convenient location. With no legal sports wagering in either location, the Hollywood Casino could have plenty of action for the Super Bowl.

On the big day, the casino is taking reservations for tables within its sportsbook. Tables are $400 for up to four guests, and the reservation lasts from 3 p.m. to close. With your table, you will receive a free bucket of beer along with access to the open tailgate buffet.

Most importantly, your table provides the availability of a private betting window, so you don’t need to wait in line with the other customers to place your bets.

The Casino Club at The Greenbrier

The FanDuel Sportsbook at The Greenbrier is also hosting an event. It’s providing a “$99 Super Sunday Offer” to potential customers to enjoy the Super Bowl at its private casino.

To gain access to the special event, patrons must book a room for Sunday, February 3, at the special rate of $99 plus taxes and fees. The special Super Bowl event is open to non-members. The Greenbrier will provide complimentary game-day cuisine along with access to cocktails from the cash bar. Fans can enjoy the game on any of the 21 high-definition televisions within The Casino Club.

Guests can also take full advantage of the 37 table games and 320 slot machines during and after the Super Bowl. The Casino Club Dress Code will be lifted for the day so that everyone can wear their favorite NFL team gear.

Your reservation guarantees you a noon check-in time on Sunday, and a 3 p.m. late check out on Monday. The offer doesn’t apply to the Windsor Club, Legacy Cottages, Estate Homes or Classic and Historic Suites.

Wheeling Island Hotel

Wheeling Island’s BetLucky Sportsbook is having a viewing party inside of its sportsbook with both food and drink specials.

A minimum $10 bet rewards you with:

  • $15.99 all-you-can-eat wings
  • $2 Bud Light aluminum bottles
  • $1 hot dogs
  • $1 pretzels
  • $3 off buffet purchase

Plus, there will be a different drink special with every scoring and quarter change for the duration of the game. Any time one team scores, a wheel will be spun to determine the next available special discount for guests.

Additionally, there are discounted $99 room rates, Betlucky T-shirt giveaways, plus some free gameday swag. The sportsbook should be a great place to view the action in the game as well. Wheeling Island has just installed a new, massive LED screen on their main wall for the perfect viewing experience.

Mardi Gras Casino and Resort

The Mardi Gras Casino is still working through the details of its Super Bowl festivities. It will be having a viewing event similar to Wheeling Islands’, which will include both food and drink specials. More details as they become available.

Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort

There is currently not much information regarding the Super Bowl from the Mountaineer Casino. However, it will be hosting an invitation-only party for some of its high roller members. More news to come as available.

The spectacle that crowns the champion of pro football is typically always exciting, but this year might be even better. With legal sportsbooks now available to millions outside of Las Vegas, Nevada the big game should have an even bigger buzz around it.
