DraftKings And FanDuel Feature Free NFL Games In West Virginia For Super Bowl LV

The Super Bowl is still over a week away, but West Virginia sportsbooks have you covered in multiple ways.

Not only can you place a bet through any of the Mountain State’s online sports betting apps, but you can also participate in free games.

Both DraftKings WV Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook are offering contests that are completely free to join.

Customers who come away victorious will see some money, however, as all of the games include cash prizes.

After the bye week, Super Bowl LV will take place on Sunday, Feb. 7, in Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers are the first team to ever participate in a Super Bowl at their home stadium.

Despite the Bucs having a slight advantage playing at home, the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs are favored at WV sportsbooks. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his side are laying about a field goal in the final NFL game of the year.

While these odds are available to bet on, let’s take a look at the free options listed for next week’s Super Bowl.

FanDuel Sportsbook

FanDuel has several ways you can get some action on the big game without having to bet any actual real money.

With Big Game Bingo, you can win a share of the $100,000 prize pool. If you’re lucky enough to win the entire contest, first place wins a total of $10,000.

For this game, you’ll receive a bingo card with 25 prop bets listed on them. Each card will display a different game, team or random Super Bowl prop. Although most of these markets involve outcomes on the field of play, not all of them do.

Propositional bets on your card range from whether there is a fourth-down attempt to when two celebrities appear in a commercial during one of the breaks. Each box shows a detailed description of your prop when you click on it.

Of course, the winner of the game is whoever is able to fill out five squares in one row the fastest.

The results from each prop bet will populate automatically on your card, but you still have to press the “Call Bingo!” button yourself.

FanDuel will reward the first 2,500 entries that submit a completed row.

Payment is based on the following finishing positions:

  • 1 $10,000
  • 2 $2,500
  • 3-10 $1,000
  • 11-20 $500
  • 21-50 $250
  • 51-100 $100
  • 101-500 $50
  • 501-1,000 $25
  • 1,001-2,500 $5

The online sportsbook is also giving a free $1 entry for its FanDuel DFS for up to 25,000 people who don’t finish in the money.

WV bettors can take advantage of FanDuel’s PlayAction as well. It’s been running this free game, where live picks can win real cash payouts, since the start of the playoffs.

Every quarter, you’re awarded 2,000 tokens to live bet with up to 100 tokens for each selection of the drive. Those who win the most tokens at the end of every quarter win a prize.

FanDuel gives the 10 top players various prizes that come in the form of credit for both its online sportsbook and DFS app.

DraftKings Sportsbook

One of the most common ways to have some skin in a Super Bowl is with a box pool. DraftKings provides its variation of this for free with its Wrangler Big Game Squares contest.

As with any other game like this, you select a box without knowing exactly what you’ve taken. You’ll have the option of 100 different places to choose prior to the numbers being assigned.

Once the Super Bowl kicks off, players can log back onto DraftKings to see what they’ll be rooting for. Your box and numbers are the same throughout the duration of the game.

The online sportsbook is awarding $55,000 overall for this free game.

Payout structure is based on the following:

  • First quarter – $8,250
  • Halftime – $16,500
  • Third quarter – $8,250
  • Final score – $22,000

If your two numbers match each team’s second digit in their score, then you have a winning box. For instance, if the score at halftime is Kansas City up 17-14, then whoever has the square with Chiefs 7 and Bucs 4 will win.

DraftKings allows you to enter its public Big Game Squares just once; however, you can create private contests, too. Here, you’re able to invite friends and family to a more personal version of the game many enjoy during the Super Bowl.

Customers can make and join as many private squares games as they want.

Regardless of which game you enter, you must choose your square prior to the game starting. DraftKings won’t accept any entries submitted after the game’s advertised start time of 6:30 p.m. EST next Sunday.
