Fanatics has finally made its long-awaited entrance into West Virginia. The company announced yesterday that it launched its sportsbook and online casino within the state.
West Virginia is the first state to experience a Fanatics-branded online casino, too. The question now bears how successful Fanatics will be, and what happens to PointsBet.
Fanatics debuts its first-ever online casino in West Virginia
While Fanatics Sportsbook is live in six states, West Virginia is the first where players get to experience Fanatics’ online casino. There are still going to be nine total WV online casinos, as Fanatics has started the migration process from PointsBet.
Fanatics officials told PlayWV that if players try to log into their PointsBet accounts, there will be instructions to download the Fanatics app, where the online casino is integrated with the sportsbook. PointsBet will soon no longer be operational, too.
Fanatics online casino will supply games such as roulette, slots and blackjack. Players will also have access to exclusive Fanatics-branded blackjack games, as well. According to a press release emailed to PlayWV, more online casino games and features will be available in the near future.
The operator is offering FanCash to sportsbook and online casino players, which can be converted into bonus bets or redeemed on Fanatics’ website to buy team merchandise. Players can earn FanCash through the following ways in the casino:
- Slots: 0.5% of wager
- Table games: 0.13% of wager
It’ll be interesting to see what Fanatics’ online casino will not only look like, but how it’s going to perform. DraftKings WV Casino, BetMGM WV Casino and FanDuel WV Casino are considered the market leaders in this space. Despite Fanatics having a tough mountain to climb, the brand awareness it already brings could make it a strong competitor.
Partners with Hollywood Casino Charles Town, Fanatics Casino is expected to have much more of an impact than PointsBet did. West Virginia online casinos just set a monthly record by generating $15.5 million in October revenue.
