The opening round of the NBA playoffs is in full swing. All eight series are underway as the chase for the championship begins.

To help celebrate, DraftKings Sportsbook West Virginia is giving new users a great promotion to take advantage of.

By betting $5 on any NBA game in April, you’ll receive $150 in free bets automatically. Unlike some other deals, DraftKings provides you with a bonus as soon as you confirm your qualifying bet.

Many other welcome promotions involve the results from your initial bet. With this one, DraftKings is essentially handing you free money to join the online sportsbook.

Now is the perfect time to dive into NBA betting, as there are so many quality series available. The first round features several that look poised for six or seven contests.

Let’s look at the details of the DraftKings WV NBA promotion and some of the postseason odds currently listed.

NBA Promo: Bet $5 Win $200 If Your Team Wins

As noted, the best part of this latest DraftKings deal is that you can’t lose. Regardless of the outcome of your $5 bet to become eligible, bettors get the $150 in bonus funds automatically.

The operator supplies the bonus in the form of six separate free bets worth $25 apiece.

This is another advantage for bettors. As opposed to needing to place the entire $150 on one individual market, you’re able to spread it around and bet on a couple of different games.

So instead of having your entire bonus riding on a single result or performance, you’re able to stretch it out to as many as six.

There are some restrictions around the free bets, though. You need to utilize them within seven days before they expire. Players cannot withdraw any of the bonus money until it is wagered and enters your account.

DraftKings allows new sportsbook customers to redeem this deal one time each.

The only requirement is that you must deposit and place a bet for a minimum of $5. You also need to confirm your NBA bet before the start of the game you choose. Live bets aren’t accepted.

While the $5 bet earns you the bonus, the wager is still active and can supply additional cash winnings.

This promo runs through the final day of the month, April 30, which covers the majority of the first-round series.

NBA postseason odds at WV sportsbooks

There’s plenty of excitement in the playoffs already after just a few days of games in the opening round. As always, injuries are playing a massive role.

Dallas’ Luka Doncic missed the first two tilts in its matchup with the Utah Jazz. The Mavs snagged a victory in the second game to even the series at one, as both sides head to Utah.

Another major player went down on Tuesday night when Phoenix’s Devin Booker pulled up with a hamstring issue.

New Orleans was able to steal a game over the West’s top seed with an incredible second half. With Booker’s immediate availability in question, there’s the potential for a couple of upsets early in the NBA Playoffs.

Outside of betting on individual contests, WV sportsbooks include a lot of other postseason markets. There are options to decide the exact round a given team will be eliminated in, along with picking the two conference finalists on each side.

Playing the futures odds at WV sportsbooks

The futures odds for which franchise takes this year’s title are always updated as well. Bettors can decide to capitalize on some added value for teams that might find themselves down in their series.

Dallas is a good example of this. It entered the postseason with odds around +2000 but is now available at +5000 to win the championship at DraftKings. The Mavs’ loss in the first game and the uncertainty around Doncic hinder their chances.

Brooklyn is an additional option that now has slightly better odds than about a week ago. The Nets are listed at +1000 to win it all, which is probably their longest odds all season.

On the other side of things, you can put some action down on a team in an advantageous situation.

The Warriors look great so far against the Nuggets, and most importantly, Steph Curry appears healthy. If Booker isn’t back to full strength, Golden State is most likely favored in that potential series.

Right now, the Warriors are shown at +400 through DraftKings, compared to the Suns in the top spot at +275.
