Continent 8 Technologies, a global digital infrastructure solutions provider, announced another new location in the Mountain State. This allows the company to enhance its disaster recovery solutions.

Continent 8 plays a big role in online gambling, especially for WV online casinos. Its first data center location serves as a public cloud for online operators.

Continent 8 addresses disaster recovery with new Mountain State data center

In partnership with the Seneca Rocks Regional Development Authority, Continent 8 has officially opened a second data center in Petersburg, West Virginia, which specializes in disaster recovery.

According to Google, disaster recovery is defined as:

“Disaster recovery (DR) is an organization’s ability to restore access and functionality to IT infrastructure after a disaster event, whether natural or caused by human action (or error). DR is considered a subset of business continuity, explicitly focusing on ensuring that the IT systems that support critical business functions are operational as soon as possible after a disruptive event occurs.”

Michael Tobin, Continent 8 Technologies Founder and CEO, said in a press release:

“We are thrilled to have added a second site, allowing us to expand our offering to include disaster recovery, as well as our approved Public Cloud solution in our original site, further establishing Continent 8 as the leading infrastructure provider in the North American market.

“Infrastructure is the foundation operators and suppliers need to succeed, and that’s why the biggest players come to Continent 8. Our solutions, customer service, reputation and experience are unrivalled.”

Online operators now have protection against a natural disaster, should one strike in West Virginia.

Continent 8’s previous West Virginia online gambling presence

Continent 8 had already opened a location in South Charleston in 2018. It serves as the public cloud that online operators use to power their platforms and games.

West Virginia is not the only state Continent 8 resides in. Gaming apps are using the company in multiple states, including:

  • New Jersey
  • Michigan
  • Indiana
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania

Continent 8 is live in 30 states overall, with plans to open new locations in the near future. Operators and bettors have Continent 8 to thank for being able to host online gaming platforms.
